Sometimes thoughts come into my head, for no reason, and they stay there for a while.

Here's one:

Honi soit qui mal y pense.
:?

Shame be to anyone who thinks evil of it. Or... Shame be to anyone who sees evil there.

Here's another one:

If all you have is a hammer, everything looks like a nail.

I don't know why I thought of this – I just did.

Hay Mark:

I know I know you from my past but I don't know whether it was from school or church. I went to St. John's United Church on #7, is that it or High School?

I think Simon is more my age.

My maiden name was "King". Help me out.

What the heck did you say in that first post?

Hi Linda,

I do remember the name Linda King, but it definitely wasn't from church and I don't think we were in the same grade. Probably you were in Simon's bunch -- he was 2 years behind me, graduating in 1966.

Now you're hitting below the belt LOL

Did you go to Georgetown High. My niece was born in 1966 and I wonder if you knew her?

Hey, I was a teenager in the 60's and I survived!

Actually, the literal translation is:

Shamed be he who thinks evil of it.

Or as I prefer... Shame be to anyone who sees evil there.

Mark I think I figured out why your family is so prevalent in my mind.
I remember your Dad being a tall, handsome man and Your Mom petite and attractive as well.

Your parents were very nice people. I think I know your family from one of the Dr.'s offices I worked in after High School. It would either be Dr. Thompson's or Dr. Englebrecht's.

Am I right?

Hi Mark,

I just Googled it and took the translation from Wikipedia
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grenadier_Guards

I used to think it meant "Evil to he who evil thinks", now I have 4 choices. Yikes :)

I did go to GDHS. Is your niece Lisa? She lived on Ryan St (Rd?) where my mother's family lived next to Chapel Street School as I explained before. I think my aunt Aline was friends with one of the Kings.

Christine was one of my friends in kindergarden and grade 1 before I moved to Mountainview Road. I lived on Ewing Street. I've seen Christine in town and wanted to say hello, but I felt shy, because it was so long ago.

Yup, it's a small world, especially in good ol' Georgetown.

Please say hi to Chris she would love it.

My daughter lives on Ewing Street now and my in-laws lived on Hewson Cres.

You must have also had Carolyn Grasby in your class too.

Would you mind telling me your last name Mike or is it a big secret? I might know your parents too.

What the heck happened to all of those years.

Two years ago they went to Vegas for Chris's 40th

Linda, it just seems like yesterday, that a mud cover young lady embraced her poor coach on a ball diamond at the park, where did the years go. Arn't you just over 40 now?

Jim yes I did, I said Lisa was my cousin. Vi and Jack were my Aunt and Uncle.

Between Don and I we have Georgetown pretty well wrapped relative-wise.

If you are wondering about Don's post about the mud covered young lady I will explain. It is really kind of funny but one of those "you had to be there stories".

I was on my way to BAND CAMP. Oops wrong story.

I played Powderpuff baseball and Don was my coach.
It had been raining all day but had stopped by game time. As you can imagine the diamond was very muddy.
I had hit the ball and had made it to lst base. The batter after me also hit the ball and as I was running to second I slipped in the mud, landed on my stomach and slid about 15 ft. right past second base. I was covered with mud from head to toe. They called me out to boot.
Well as you can imagine everyone was in hysterics, Don included. I was so embarrassed I thought to myself, what can I do to make a funny situation even funnier and get the embarrassment away from me. I slowly walked over to Don, threw my arms around him and gyrated the mud onto him. It was so funny some people on GTOL might even remember it.
