Hi Don,

Thanks for listing Dennis Emmerson, my brother. Although he never graduated from high school he did spent 5 years at G.D.H.S. Imagine, he could have graduated at 17 yrs. if he had applied himself. Instead he had a grade 10 education!!!

This is the only place where he is mentioned. There was no burial for Dennis, at least not one that I know of, so this is where his memory will live on. THANKS!!!!!!

GDHS LOST ALUMNI!!!

Postby LearningSponge » Mon May 13, 2002 12:19 pm

Although my brain injury has taken away a huge part of my memory, I do remember an awful lot of people's names that Don has put into this list. It's absolutely shocking that so many of them have already passed away for one reason or another. Makes me feel even more blessed that God saved my life, and helps me to be the "Best that I Can Be" Bless you, Don for all the constant work you're doing for this wonderful site, even though I don't get to read it very often 'cause my readings not so good anymore, and it's difficult for me to do. Have a wonderful day, everyone, Linda

Wayne Morrow is another to add to the list. He was a year or 2 ahead of me (1987) but I can't remember the year he died in a car accident.

Sandy Taylor

Darryl Chamberlain

Darryl just died on April 3, 2002. I had been trying to get in touch when I saw his obituary. Darryl, Cathy and Brian (Sam) all died far too young.

Dave Harlow

Postby mustangsue » Thu May 16, 2002 6:08 am

I didn't see Dave Harlow's name on the list. He died in 1993 in a car accident. Also Tom Bradley, who died while we were still in highschool around 1969-1970. Dianne Larson also died quite young around 1975. There are far too many people on the list that I knew.
Sue (Jones) Hansford

Hello Sue
Thank you for caring and remembering. As I had mentioned to someone the other day, I have(unfortunately a list of many more names) but I am hoping that friends or family will do as you have and submit names of those that you remember and would like to honour. It seemsbe more personable.
TOM'S name is near the top on the other list. Yes there are way too many.
Regards,
Don

Hi Don, I remember you well. Bouncing at the Hollywood.
I had just started dating Dave again after 21 years of not seeing him. He was a Hollywood fixture by then, sorry to say. I tried to stop him from drinking and driving but he never listened. His late wife was Cathy Orpwood, who was killed in the early 80's. She should be on your list too.
I've been reading you for a while but I just managed to log in.
I'm afraid though, that I will be losing access to computer for a spell after July due to the fact that my ex will be getting full custody of her. Hope to get another when the house sells.
Good job! Sue (Jones) Hansford

I hope things work out for you.
Warmest regards,
Don

Hi Don, I cried too. Still think of him a lot. He got the best send off though, didn't he. Glad Steve took Chipper's kids. He had quite a houseful. Did you know his old house burnt down on Trafalgar near funeral home? Thank God he had moved.
By the way, I'm convinced that I'm going to enjoy being single.
P.S. There is a 50th party for Randy Brandford at the Station Hotel on July 6th. All welcome.
Sue

Sounds great about the due for RANDY, I will definitley mark it down and do my best to have someone take me up.
Warmest regards,
Don

Edited by: Don Fendley at: 5/17/02 11:04:08 pm

Correction on some of Sue's info.

The party for Randy is June 8th at the Station House. His birthday is June 17 but he is out of town then. Also my brother's name was Robert Douglas (Doug) Meeks. He was killed by a drunk truck driver in '78. 3 days before Christmas. SOB was never charged either - even for careless.

Also another name to add to our sad list is Nancy Werry. She passed away in Alberta in the late 90's. She left behind a sweet daughter Brandy. I sure would love to see her again.

Hi Dave, Hey, you know Randy! It could change again. When are you coming here? I will be moving on July 1, but I'm moving next door to Jules (daughter) who is still living in my old apartment on Academy. You should have seen Randy on Halloween. He was sitting at my table for an hour before I realized it was him. His laugh and perfect makeup job gave him away!
Sue
