Member's List

Postby Mark Ezard » Thu Jan 10, 2008 9:47 am

Looking at the member's list, there is now way of telling the exact person based on his/her username.
Is there a way of member's putting their actual name so other people can actually see who these members are and hopefully re-connect as friends?

Mark, at this time the only way that I know of to find out who a member is, would be to send them either a PM or email inquiring who they are and if they know you! I can not do that and publish it do to privacy issues. Perhaps a general post by you asking that they contact you so that you can get to know them. Sorry I can not be of more assistance.
Take care,

Bonnie, I will look into it and see if there is anyway that we can prohibit this from happening!

Tks for your reply Don however, having to email or PM some members that you think may be the person you are looking for is a waste of time and it may turn out not to be that person at all. It would be nice to look at the entire name right away and email that specific person to make contact. So looking at the member's list is useless unless they put their username as their real name like I did.

Mark,

Part of me very much agrees with you and I know much of the (hopefully) past acrimony might've been avoided if all posters were known and not hiding behind "Nom de Webs".

On the other hand some of our more eccentric and interesting posters would be lost if they had to fess up to real names and in some cases gender.

I think you have live in hope that people you think might be here also want to be in touch with you and since you're not anonymous, that may happen. I know it's worked for me.

:)
Well said Al, that is exactly how I feel about this, I know several folks that will not even join using a Non de Webs (Al describes it)
for fear of someone that they do not want to know anything about them or where they are may stumble on to it!.

Take care and thanks Al!
