Postby Guest » Mon Apr 07, 2008 11:14 am

After being in contact with GAIL YOUNG (nee GREENAWAY) I have learned that although they have contact information for some 114 ALUMNI from the CLASS OF '73, there are still 92 MIA. The list will be posted in the very near future, so please check back often to see who they are and if you can help, please email:

gdhsclassreunion@live.ca

Check the yearbook for that year to see who was in that Graduation Year!

Missing in Action folk

Postby Gail Greenaway Young » Wed Apr 09, 2008 12:41 am

Thanks Don for your help in putting our reunion news "front row centre"!

Here is a list of the missing in action folk---the list is by no means complete and in constant flux. We are hoping that both present and former Georgetown folk, older and younger siblings or anyone with a Georgetown connection can help us out. You can send our committee a message at gdhsclassreunion@live.ca.

The LIST: Bob Bangs (RCMP in Manitoba?), Melanie Barker, Martin Bouwhuis (Brampton?), Jim Bowles, John Breckenridge, Brian Brown, Russ Brown, Dave Brownlow, Henrietta Buikema, Debbie Christie (now Critchell-in Limehouse?), Bruce Clarke, Danny Clarke (Kingston?), Leo Coffey, Gary Creary (Australia, New Zealand?), Willena Cummins (out west?), Jose Daponte, Cheryl Davies, Joanne Davies, Ginny De Sylva, Blair Dunlop, Steven Finnammore, Sue Frost, Jim Goudy (sister Maggie Ashmore in Georgetown?), Allan Green, Wayne Guzak, Rick Haines, Eric Hansen, Tony Hardcastle (we have an E-mail address but it doesn't "work"), Cathy Heller (St. Catharines?), Brian James, Katherine Jeffrey, Bob Jones, Chris Jones, Susan Kachmar, Gene Kocsis, Alex Koeslag, Martin Lancaster (Toronto?), Jody Law, Larry Louth, Ken Mariani, Janette MacDonald, Joan McAuley, Anne McCarthy (Grand Valley?), Dan McEachern, Steven McClellan, Brent McNiven, Rosemary Meekison, Randy Miller, Mark Mitchell, Ron Morgenstern, Karen Muehlbachers, John Owen, Karen Peavoy, Anne Pendergast, Janet Pentland (Guelph?), Mike Pollock, Randy Pope, Linda Prufer, Denise Rawlinson (out west?), John Reynolds, Mike Reynolds, Ivan Rice (Georgetown?), Doug Ruddell, Bob Ryder, Candy Schertzl, Christian Schulze, Dean Smith, Rod Smith, Sherri Stanton, Stephanie Stuart, Bruce Succee, Wayne Suchan, Allison Tancoo, Rick Ternieden, Theresa Tudge, Jim Van Hoekelen, Michelle Virgin, Judy Waite, Sandra Walsh (Owen Sound?), Virginia Waters, Audrey Watt, Barb Watt, Kim Weir, Bonnie White (Burlington?), Lynne Wildman, John Winkel, Diny Wygergangs, Jon Zuber

That's it for now! My apologies if our group effort has missed someone or something is not quite right with the spelling of someone's name! Will add more updates as they become available.

More MIA folk

Postby Gail Greenaway Young » Mon Apr 14, 2008 3:10 pm

Thanks for the additions to our contact list which were forwarded to our 'Roxanne' Shepherd' account (gdhsclassreuion@live.ca). Roxanne is not a mysterious classmate from the 70s---just the name of my Australian Shepherd dog! The latest additions to the MIA list are as follows: Brian Hardman, Nino Martina, Tom Smarda and Nancy Tarzwell. We have phone numbers for these four but not sure exactly where they are (there's a note that Nino is out west? and I believe the # for Nancy may be at the Vet clinic where she used to work? and Tom is in Toronto?) It would be great to be able to have an address to send the registration to. The registrations have started to arrive and I understand that the very first one came from John Wilcox! It might be fun to post the names as they arrive or perhaps this is better off as a deep, dark secret until the day of!

Update to MIA folk

Postby Gail Greenaway Young » Tue Apr 15, 2008 11:48 pm

It looks as if we do have a snail mail address for Tom Smarda, and a connection with Nino's brother, Bruno which might produce an address for us. The phone # we have for Nancy Tarzwell is at the vet clinic where she used to work---I believe she is now retired? but we have no idea where she is living. Thanks Betty for your quick assistance!

Just a thought Gail, I use www.superpages.ca to look up folks, if you have an idea of where they are, say by province or even city it can be very helpful!

Thanks for the info Don! I'll check it out when I get a few minutes. I initially had luck just plain "googling" some people but then we did have an idea where they were living, what they were doing, etc. which made it a bit easier. I've also had a lot of success finding "people from the past" via the Internet as well---both living and deceased (genealogy stuff)---it's actually quite amazing some of this "stuff" that you can easily access with a little patience and a lot of determination, but then that's a whole other story!

Randy Pope - sister's Carolyn and Demaris

Postby Gail Greenaway Young » Tue Apr 22, 2008 10:48 am

Still humming along finding lost souls (though I'm not about to hang out my shingle just yet!) I found snail mail addresses for Nancy Tarzwell and Nino Martino thanks to your tip Don! Now I am hoping that someone out there will be able to help us find Randy Pope. Some time ago my mother got some information from Barry Timleck? or Ann Allen? (who was at Marg Pope's funeral---that would be Randy's mother)---I'm hazy on this part---Sorry! Anyhow, we thought Randy might be in real estate in Ottawa but that hasn't panned out. Apparently, Randy had two sisters, Carolyn Faubert (husband - Gary) and Demaris Hume---one might live in Richmond Hill? Does anyone out there know Randy's sisters, or how we might contact them and find Randy that way?? Thanks for your help!

The plans for our class reunion are coming along quite nicely---we have over 75 registered for the Saturday event and others who plan to just join us at Brackys on the Friday evening. Thank you very much to everyone who has helped us connect with former classmates! We did finally find Randy Pope (in Ottawa!) and of course, many, many others. We were going to post a list of who is coming here at Georgetown Online but didn't want to display names without permission, so that will have to remain a mystery until later this month. If I get a chance, I will post the final M.I.A. list here---you never know who may take a peek here, and well, one thing does lead to another. Hopefully we will be able to post some photos after the event too! Stay tuned---especially those who for one reason or another, are unable to join us.

I'd like to thank Karen Leonard for the invitation. Unfortunately family obligations will take me out of town that week-end.

This class was the start of my teaching career. I have many fond and funny memories.

I do wish I could participate. Have fun. No doubt you will.
Play safely kiddies.
