John, after seeing how much energy and vitality my brother and a few others I know had the procedure, I look forward to having it completed. Was getting a little sluggish, it is my 59 k tune-up.
Talk soon!

I was talking to Linda this afternoon and Don is doing well although very tired. She's taking his laptop to the hospital so hopefully Don will be back on line shortly. And if all goes well, he will be coming home on Thursday. :cheer:

Oh Donnie boy, the pipes, the pipes are calling
From the Glen to Georgetown, and the Erin side
The summer's gone, and all the flowers are dying
'Tis you, 'tis you must go and I must put up with PB.
But come ye back when winters in the meadow
when the valley's hushed and white with snow
'Tis I'll be here in sunshine or in shadow
Oh Donnie boy, oh Donnie boy, We miss you so. :drunk: :bop:

Aye, JB, ye brings a tear to me eye.... seein' this sentimental side of ye!
(Well, I's seen the 'mental' side' before, but n'er the sentiment part.)
An' it warms the cockles of me 'eart to see such warmth in a place we all thinks is colder than a tub of Pralines an Cream.

Jus' tryin' to imagine yer rich smokey baritone singin' that song o'er the autumn hills of the Glen.... causin' the leaves to fall faster than the Leafs in the standings....which is pretty darn fast...

So sing yer lil 'eart out, me friend, standin' atop a picnic table in front of yer IScream Store, all boarded up an' dark an' gloomy, waitin' fer winter's icy hand to crush the life out of Erin's main street.

Sing 'til the big white van pulls up, an' the guys in the long white coats jump out (watch out fer the one with the tranquilizer gun!) and haul yer skinny bag o' bones off to a warm an' quieter place, where sunshine an' shadow are all part of a hazy dream....

An' put up with me ye must, since 'tis only the two of us young enough to keep up this charade, because yer manwithtoomanyLL's is now even older than when last we spoke, an' likely unable to keep up, given the sad slide he's on these days, what with his dementia an' droolin' an' incontinence an' all.....

Jus' make sure y'er open in time fer Spring Cones!!

'Tis a sad truth you speak. Yes, experience I've had..........
Always made me a little sad having to drive that van up to some unexpecting house.
And then drive away with my new passenger, hoping that the destination would bring some relief, some easing of the pain, some respite from reality.
But by picking up the poor soul, I knew that the Georgetown home he'd left would have some peace.
So, we'd head north, and drop him off in Erin.
And slowly their town grew.
A win/win, I guess.

You're delusional PB.
I hate to tell you this but you were a school teacher not a white van driver.
If you don't remember look at your pension cheque.
Hows Joy handling your problem?

See what I mean Don, hurry back. :disbelief:

Dear PB & JB,
You two are like rays of sunshine! With the weather being grey and gloomy and our moderator and George under the weather as well, we are all feeling a little dismal. Reading your postings this morning puts a smile on everyone's face, and for that we thank you. I look forward to tomorrow's ...

My White Van

Postby Petitbois » Thu Oct 29, 2009 11:31 pm

Just in from an evening of cruising in the van..... Spent many minutes rolling through the streets of Hepworth and Wiarton and Chesley, and Clifford and Hanover tonight, winding up in Barrow Bay.
Seems a bit funny not to have JB in the padded back of the truck, singing his plaintive songs about how he wished he'd been born Irish, and his true love Donny Boy- you know, the usual patter of an ex-Georgetownian who got stuck in Erin and wonders why life has been so unfair.

In the morning, if the rain holds off, Gerry and I will try to get in 9 holes or more in Wiarton. Then there's the dock to bring in. Lake is way down. Tonight it was dead calm when we got here, and the weather very mild. Barometer is way high too- no sign of the system moving in yet.

But gotta go get some beauty sleep now. Can't let JB get ahead of me.

Lost again.
Don't you know you shouldn't be out by yourself.
Joy and the cops are getting tired of looking for you.
At least you have someone to play 9 with other wise who knows where they would find you, or in what state of dress.
Don't forget your mittens and remember when you wake up in the morning what happened the last time you thought you could walk on water.

"what state of dress"
First JB, I haven't had that dress on for a long time! And though it's still in a fine state, I won't wear it again to one of your 'special parties', no matter how much you beg and pout.
We both know that you were not being straight with me (pun intended!) when you said it was a Hallowee'en party and I should dress as a woman, because you were having all of your 'special' friends from the bath house over, and they were really good customers, and we should all be nice to them.....
It wouldn't have been so bad if they had looked me in the eye when they talked to me, but it was as though I was just a piece of meat!!! I felt so .....used. Objectified. I don't know how you do it!
Plus, I could never golf in that dress! It's so short it wouldn't even cover my driver!

"Don't forget your mittens"
You say that smugly, knowing that you NEVER forget or lose yours.
Because of the STRING THROUGH YOUR SLEEVES!!!!

".......what happened the last time you thought you could walk on water."
You can't get over that, can you?
'What happened" was called SKATING, JB.
It was February!! The pond was frozen! If someone had tied your skates for you, you could have come out on the pond with the big kids!!!
It's not my fault you nearly drowned in the neighbour's pool last July.
I wait til it's cold to go out on the 'water'!!
