An interesting Question...

Yesterday I was asked if I knew if McGILVRAY CRES was named after GARFIELD McGILVRAY and yes it was. Just like MARILYN CRES was named after REX HESLOP'S daughter.

I thought this would be great if folks could add to the list and put street names with those they were named for.

When we have a list made it can be available for all to view...

A start on where the street names came from:

Some streets in the older part of town are named after Royalty, (Prince Charles Drive, Princess Anne Drive, Windsor Road, King, Queen, Victoria and Albert Streets.) Some recall historic names from WW2 (Normandy, Churchill) and others remember the farms on which they are situated (Cleaveholm, Ostrander,Hewson, Sinclair, Moore Park.) Byron, Shelly and Keats were named for famous writers, as is the area in Trafalgar Country off the
