The playing fields and the recreational facilities are finally starting to improve in town, but the sad thing is that the improvements are not coming from the Town, but from other parties. From my understanding this one is based on the fact that there was the multiyear contracts of the soccer club and the football league...and the Trafalgar Sportsplex is going to be done mid-June but the Men's League had to secure funding for most of it, plus they had to foot the bill for lights...and a few years ago, the GSL had to have the pitching mound removed from the Georgetown South hardball diamond, so the diamond could actually be used, as the diamond was not proper dimensions for an actual game...then there is the Gellert Centre, where the pool was made too short for the swim teams (I recall it being less than a foot), so they cannot hold meets or competitions in town...the swim team actually had to host their annual meet in Hamilton yesterday!

I hope that the proper dimensions are being used and the appropriate people are being consulted...we do have some resources in town, that are not being used to their full potential, due to the fact that no one decided to consult the people who are using them.
