You didn't say when the operation was Michael, but all the best to you.

Thanks all, but I should have clarified that it's just a procedure to improve my breathing for sleep apnea. I'll be away from work recovering in May and the athletic banquet might be scheduled during that time. Sure, there are risks, but I'm only a little worried.

Michael, glad to hear it is not complicated, but our thoughts are still going to be with you and our hopes are that your recovery is swift and you are fully recovered in order to take in your banquet.
The best of luck to you!

Nah, you know the drill. It's for a deviated septum. It's not cosmetic at all. Just ask Ashley Simpson or Ashley Tisdale. Wait - I see a pattern there. Mike - you're not gonna change your name to Ashely are ya?

I am getting two things done: septoplasty and uvulopalatoplasty. The septoplasty is the shaving of nose cartilage which is nasty enough, but the uvulopalatoplasty is the laser removal of the flesh that hangs at the back of the throat. I'll be on a liquid diet for two weeks. The pain is described as "exceptional" so I had better be on something like codeine. I guess I'm off work for a week or so.

Crap Mike - I wouldn't like anything where they told me ahead of time the pain was going to be exceptional. Hope they give you lots of the best drugs buddy!

The only silver lining here - a liquid diet means you'll likely lose a little weight - not that you need to.

I know this topic has nothing to do with wrestling, but I had my operation yesterday. My throat is killing me even though I'm doped up on codeine and my left nostril has been bleeding since last night. My doctor says not to worry about that. I guess it will coagulate and heal. I'm off work now for a while.

While I was in the hospital, I had a semi-private room, because of my benefits. My roommate was an 89 year old man. He looked like he was in his 60's. It turned out that he was a multi-millionaire having been the owner of a great deal of farm land in Streetsville that was eventually sold to development. I believe his name is Wyndham. He said that there is a street named after him there. He didn't mention the money. I just put two-and-two together. He was a nice man.

Mike

Hope you're feeling well soon.

It'll be tough sleeping for a while I imagine, then things will be much better.

Happy zzzzzing

Neil

Thanks, Don. I must admit that I feel like somebody punched me in the nose. My throat is no better.

Hey Mike

Hope you're feeling much better now. I read your little story on your website. I think you got the good drugs.

Demerol would have been the good drug, but I'm not complaining. My throat is still really sore though. I tried a mushed banana and it was torture, and I felt sick from the pain afterward. Wow! Also, Mr. Cotton is right: sleepingzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz...I dropped a waist size too. 8)

Pethedine was my "drug of choice" until I realized I'd spent several hours admiring the buttons on my pyjamas ...
"Wow, look at that ... a buttonhole ... fantastic" (all said in a slow, dreamy and somewhat slurred tone)

I could handle that...that's like the hot tub party sequence in my letter.

Still on liquids. Wow that flesh at the back of the throat hurts even with drugs.
